(Series synopsis)

MI6 field agent Larry Langham is discharged after his firearm goes off on a dance floor, injuring a mother of two. Washed-up and working in a friend’s pet shop, Langham is approached by A.M.O.F. – an alleged deep state programme that specialises in ‘reducing’ its targets – to undermine Terence Simmons MP, “enemy to the state” and forerunner in the UK general election.

But when Langham is forced to confront Simmons directly, it becomes apparent that not all is quite as it seems. Together with new field-partner Igor, Langham finds himself on the trail of the ‘Mad Barons’, a self-styled and shadowy group of ex-backbenchers expelled from the House of Lords.

Langham’s quest for truth takes him on a madcap journey from London to rural Yorkshire; a remote fishing village on the North Sea; and a pagan commune run by the son of a Lord, before a final showdown with the barons themselves…
